Proven gains in feed efficiency

"BioCell® enhances feed conversion and digestive efficiency in sows and piglets."

In trials conducted across Europe lor EU registration, BioCell demonstrated a significant impact on feed conversion and digestion efficiency.

In sows, BioCell"' supplementation reduced body-weight loss during lactation by an average of 16.2 kg (38.45 kg vs. 54.67 kg; P < 0.001), indicating improved energy balance and recovery. Piglets from these sows achieved a weaning weight of 7.47 kg, compared with 6.7 kg in controls - an 11.5% improvement. Feed efficiency also improved substantially, with a 23.3% reduction in feed required per kilogram of piglet produced (1.89 kg vs. 2.33 kg; P < 0.001 ).

In weaned piglet trials, the feed conversion ratio decreased significantly even as total feed intake increased, confirming better nutrient utilisation and digestive efficiency. These results reflect the positive influence of BioCell® on the intestinal ecosystem, promoting opti mal feed use and improved growth performance.

Environmental and Sustainability Benefits

"Improved feed efficiency means reduced nitrogen losses and lower emissions."

Enhanced nutrient utilisation with BioCell® contributes directly to a better nitrogen metabolism and reduced nitrogen excretion, helping to lower ammonia emissions from manure. By improving how animals process protein and energy, BioCell® supports both environmental performance and farm profitability.

By merging gut health, performance, and environmental responsibility, BioCell® exemplifies how microbial innovation can deliver measurable benefits from sow to piglet. It is not just a live yeast - It is science in action for the future of sustainable swine production.

In the demanding world of modern swine production, producers face increasing pressure to balance animal health, performance, and sustainability. Among the latest nutritional solutions, BioCell®, a next- generation Saccharomyces cerevisiae live yeast, is setting a new benchmark in feed efficiency and animal resilience.

Developed through a six-year scientific programme and validated in 18 European trials involving over 1,700 animals, BioCell® delivers consistent results in sows and piglets alike. Its exceptionally high CFU concentration, strong reproductive capacity, and powerful oxygenscavenging ability make it one of the most robust live yeasts authorised in the EU today.

Supporting Gut Health and Reducing Antibiotic Use

"Live yeast can be one of the key tools for reducing antibiotic use in animal farming."

One of the primary goals of probiotic live yeast supplementation is the reduction of antibiotic dependence. BioCell® modifies the intestinal environment, promoting beneficial flora while creating a biological barrier to the development of pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli.

Yeast has a natural attraction to sugars, effectively removing them from the reach of harmful bacteria. At the same time, it strengthens the local immune system, helping animals to resist infections naturally. By fostering a stable, balanced gut microbiota, BioCell® supports digestive health and reduces the likelihood of antibiotic intervention - an increasingly important objective for both regulators and consumers.
